The £559 item price is not the complete delivered cost. The lid needs 43.5cm of vertical clearance when open, and stepless adjustment is excellent for fine control but cannot return to numbered clicks. The manufacturer publishes 72dB during grinding and sub-±0.2g dose consistency from independent test data, but Home Coffee Index has not reproduced those tests. Availability varies by colour and plug, the warranty duration was not verified, and replacement-burr pricing is not yet structured.
The Eureka favours a hopper, timed doses and direct portafilter grinding; the Niche favours weighing every dose, an empty hopper and easier movement between beans or brew methods.
This is an editorial inference: neither manufacturer states that these are direct replacements. Both publish stepless adjustment and broad grind ranges, but workflow is the useful distinction: the £369 Eureka is £180 less at recorded prices, while the £549 Niche includes a dosing cup and is designed around single dosing. Home Coffee Index has not independently compared grind quality, retention or noise.Manufacturer descriptions remain labelled as claims until Home Coffee Index measures or tests them independently.
