Evidence before certainty
Specifications link to a named source and access date. Unknown facts remain unknown; manufacturer claims are not presented as independent measurements.
Features before articles
Editorial guides explain decisions and support tools. They do not replace the structured records that power comparisons and recommendations.
Relevant comparisons
Products are compared with realistic alternatives in the same UK buying context, including required grinders and ongoing consumable costs.
Drawbacks belong near benefits
Material limitations, system lock-in, cleaning work and missing evidence appear where a buying decision is made—not in a distant disclaimer.
No score without testing
CoffeeScore remains absent until the published protocol and publication gates are met. Customer ratings and manufacturer awards cannot substitute for testing.
Commercial separation
Affiliate commission, advertising, gifted access or a product loan cannot determine inclusion, ranking, conclusions, weights or publication timing.
Product access and samples
Every tested record should state whether the unit was bought, borrowed or supplied. Long-term loans and gifts must be disclosed. A manufacturer may check factual model details but cannot approve conclusions before publication.
Recommendation labels
A database match, editorial recommendation, provisional CoffeeScore and published CoffeeScore are different outputs. The interface must label them distinctly and retain the methodology or rules used.
Review and updating
Material product claims should be rechecked when a model changes, a source becomes stale, a price feed changes or a reader reports a possible error. Substantive corrections follow the public corrections policy.
This operational policy governs the public beta and remains subject to legal and editorial review as the service develops.
