Estimate Cost to Keep →Compare pods vs beans →This is the control-focused alternative to a simpler automatic filter brewer. Gold, Fast, Strong and Cold Brew presets cover easier use, while My Brew lets you change bloom time, temperature and one of three flow rates. The included flat-bottom basket, cone insert and reusable mesh filter make it unusually flexible, and the thermal carafe avoids a hotplate.
Households brewing anything from a single mug to a 12-cup batch, especially buyers who want to tune filter recipes
It does not grind coffee, so the real setup price includes a capable filter grinder. Cold Brew is a long-steep programme, not instant chilled coffee, and Sage's separate pour-over adapter is needed to feed a V60 or Kalita Wave directly. Ownership includes hand-cleaning, a guided roughly 33-minute descale followed by two water-only brews, and a water filter about every three months. Sage was out of stock when checked; Ozone showed the exact UK SDC450 at £260. Independent temperature, extraction, heat-retention and noise tests are pending.
What it costs to start
The minimum connected equipment for this route. Required equipment is separated from beans, milk and optional extras.
This machine has no built-in grinder. The connected baseline grinder is included because freshly ground coffee cannot be made without one. It is a compatible starting point, not the only suitable choice. Beans, capsules, filters, milk, scales, cleaning products and optional accessories are excluded. Retailer prices and stock can change before checkout.

Required purchases, useful extras and later care supplies are kept separate. A connected product is an evidenced option—not a paid placement or the only valid choice.
