Philips Series 5500 LatteGovsDe'Longhi Rivelia LatteCrema

Both are sub-£700 automatic-milk bean-to-cup machines with four profiles and hot or iced drinks. Philips uses a two-part LatteGo carafe and twelve-setting grinder; Rivelia adds two interchangeable bean hoppers and a LatteCrema Hot carafe.

This is an editorial inference across brands, not a direct manufacturer comparison. The £50.99 recorded gap and hardware differences are evidenced; drink quality, milk temperature, cleaning time, noise and reliability remain untested.

Main trade-offIt occupies substantial counter depth, costs far more than entry bean-to-cup models, and independent noise, drink-quality and long-term cleaning tests are pending.Do not mistake this .55 automatic-milk model for the cheaper .35 manual-frother Rivelia: the interface, milk hardware and drink count differ. At 24.5cm it is fairly narrow, but the 43cm depth and access to its 1.4L tank still need checking. Bean switching is guided rather than instant because beans below the removable hopper must be brewed or ground away. Run the carafe CLEAN rinse after milk use, dismantle it regularly, hand-rinse the removable infuser monthly and budget for optional water filters and descaler. The optional LatteCrema Cool kit is a separate purchase. Independent taste, temperature, noise, energy and reliability tests are pending, so no CoffeeScore is published.

What could ownership cost?

Change the assumptions to match your household. Pod machines use the same editable capsule figure for a like-for-like scenario; the table above shows when an exact checked system example exists. Other machines use bean cost and dose. A connected grinder is included where the machine needs one.
