Before you choose

Questions the headline price leaves out.

Are these the five best coffee machines under £500?

No. They are five current Home Coffee Index records below £500 with attributable hands-on publisher scores. Different workflows and score methods make a single quality ranking misleading.

Does under £500 include the grinder?

The headline ceiling refers to the recorded machine item price. Every card shows whether fresh beans require a separate grinder, and the Sage Bambino Plus complete route currently exceeds £500.

Which machine is easiest for milk drinks?

The Sage Bambino Plus is the only option here with automatic milk texturing. The Stilosa, Dedica and Bambino use manual steam wands; the Moccamaster has no milk system.

Why are the review scores not averaged?

Publishers use different protocols and scales. Home Coffee Index keeps each native score attached to its source and model-match note rather than manufacturing a combined number.
